American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA)

The professional organization for anesthesiologists in the United States is the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), which was founded in 1905 as an educational, research, and scientific association of physicians organized to raise and maintain the standards of the medical practice of anesthesiology and improve the care of the patient.

The ASA provides membership opportunities for AA students and for practicing anesthesiologist assistants. Membership benefits include subscriptions to the monthly journal Anesthesiology and the monthly ASA Newsletter.
