| | General Track Admission Requirements The Master of Medical Science Program in Anesthesiology in the Emory University School of Medicine is a six-semester program for individuals who have completed a baccalaureate degree. Students matriculate in August. Three semesters of didactic course work are followed by 12 one-month clinical rotations throughout the United States. Senior students take the national Certifying Examination for Anesthesiologist Assistants and are ready to enter an anesthesia care team practice upon graduation in August. Admission Requirements Baccalaureate degree or higher: applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 (on a 4.00 point scale) or higher. A GPA of 3.1 is preferred. Completed other prerequisite courses shown below. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) Three references from individuals who know you academically or professionally Official transcripts from all institutions attended Criminal background check Exposure to 8 hours of anesthesia in the surgical setting.

Applicants should realistically evaluate the strength of their application and supplement it with additional relevant coursework, if needed, or re-take the GRE examination, if necessary. In 2009, the program received approximately 450 applications; of those, 219 were complete by the application deadline. 100 applicants were invited to an interview, and 41 were admitted to the program.
