Overview

The Master of Medical Science Program in Anesthesiology in the Emory University School of Medicine now offers a five-semester program for certified primary care PAs who have completed masters-level courses in anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology. 

Students matriculate in January.  Two semesters of didactic course work are followed by 12 one-month clinical rotations throughout the United States.  Senior students take the national Certifying Examination for Anesthesiologist Assistants and are ready to enter an anesthesia care team practice upon graduation in August.

Admissions Requirements

• Currently certified by NCCPA

• Completed masters-level courses in anatomy, physiology, and  pharmacology

• Completed other prerequisite courses shown below

• Baccalaureate degree or higher

• Three references

• Official transcripts from all institutions attended

• Interview at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia (by invitation)

• Criminal background check and drug screen
